Hope For ME has been instrumental in supporting the success of both traditional and non-traditional students attending colleges and trade schools in Maine. Financial assistance from Hope For ME can be the reason a student is able to complete their program on time, fully prepared for future success. 

We offer aid for unforeseen financial expenses such as auto repairs and maintenance, computer expenses, tools, scrubs, uniforms, and more.

We empower traditional and non-traditional students to achieve their professional goals and aspirations through education, bridging the gap when other funds for their certificate or degree programs have been exhausted. Hope For ME is an additional academic resource that many students in need can benefit from.

Through our annual fundraising efforts, Hope For ME has successfully adhered to our mission of bridging the financial gap for students. In 2023 and 2024, Hope For ME disbursed funds to the KVCC Foundation's Emergent Needs Fund. This support enabled both traditional and non-traditional students to achieve their educational goals and provided essential resources that ensured their success and enhanced their college experience. 

We look forward to fulfilling our mission and continuing our support through ongoing fundraising and community donations. With continued help from donors and local businesses, Hope For ME can continue to assist both traditional and non-traditional students in their efforts to complete their degree and/or certificate programs.

Hope for ME was founded on March 16, 2018, in loving memory of Jeannie C. Norton, whose dedication as a career center counselor touched countless lives. Jeannie devoted her career to helping individuals in Maine acquire the skills needed for meaningful employment, believing deeply in the power of career training to transform lives. Her vision was to empower those seeking assistance to achieve financial independence.

In honor of Jeannie's unwavering passion and commitment, Hope for ME aims to continue her legacy by "breaking down barriers and bridging the gap for Maine people." Our mission is to provide the essential financial resources that enable individuals to pursue employment opportunities, ensuring that everyone has the chance to succeed and thrive. Together, we can carry forward Jeannie's spirit,  supporting each person's journey toward a brighter, self-sufficient future.
